01 Apr Board Member Rosalina “Yoyi” Rodríguez Featured in S Revista Magazine
April 1, 2026 — At Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida (RMHC-SFL), our mission is built on a simple but powerful truth: family-centered care can completely transform a child’s medical journey. But behind every warm meal, every comfortable room, and every moment of emotional support we provide, there is a dedicated network of leaders working tirelessly behind the scenes.
This month, S Revista spotlighted one of RMHC-SFL’s most passionate champions: Roselina “Yoyi” Rodríguez, a valued member of our Board of Directors and a local McDonald’s Owner/Operator.
In a moving feature for the magazine’s 2026 Power Players edition, Yoyi opened up about her life story, her business journey, and why keeping families close at RMHC-SFL is her ultimate purpose in life. Born in Havana, Cuba, Yoyi immigrated to the United States with her family when she was just a young girl. She watched her father build a life from scratch, eventually working his way up to become a successful McDonald’s Owner-Operator.
Today, as a second-generation operator herself, Yoyi views her role under the Golden Arches as much more than running a business; it’s a way to honor her roots.
“My trajectory is deeply marked by the legacy of my father, a Cuban immigrant who started from zero,” Yoyi shared with S Revista. “Growing up, I saw his effort, his discipline, and his love for work. Being a second-generation operator is not just continuing a business; it is honoring a history of sacrifice and perseverance.”
From a very young age, Yoyi’s father taught her that true success isn’t measured by a financial ledger; it is measured by how much you give back to the community that embraced you. It was this deeply ingrained desire to serve that naturally drew her to RMHC-SFL. For Yoyi, the connection to the House is deeply emotional. It comes from witnessing firsthand the immense relief that parents feel when they step through our doors.
“What connects me most to Ronald McDonald House Charities is the direct human impact it has on families,” says Yoyi. “It is witnessing up close parents going through profoundly difficult moments, and knowing that, thanks to this organization, they have a space where they feel accompanied and supported.”
Yoyi’s leadership brings dignity and relief to families navigating the terrifying uncertainty of a child’s medical crisis. She has masterfully translated her corporate success into direct, human-centered service. Yoyi’s philanthropic impact didn’t stop at the board table. Driven by a desire to mobilize other female leaders in South Florida, she proudly co-founded our chapter’s Red Shoe Society. This vibrant initiative brings together dynamic, community-minded women who are dedicated to supporting RMHC-SFL through targeted fundraising, volunteering, and building localized networks of emotional and practical support for our families.
In a world that often measures influence by visibility and status, Yoyi Rodríguez chooses to focus on what truly lasts: the quiet, permanent impact made on the lives of others. We are incredibly proud to have Yoyi leading the charge on our Board of Directors. Her empathy, dedication, and vision ensure that RMHC-SFL remains a sanctuary of hope and healing for hundreds of families every single year.
