17 Oct Meet the Blair Family
On his 16th birthday, Nesean Blair’s life changed forever. A single gunshot left him paralyzed. Seeking advanced care, Nesean and his mother, Kedine, found solace at Ronald McDonald House in Miami, turning tragedy into hope.
“It is a classic case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time,” says Kedine Blair, who has been staying at Ronald McDonald House with her son since July.
Kedine and Nesean came to Miami and the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis after being told that his rehabilitation efforts in Jamaica had stalled and he needed more advanced care. Staying at Ronald McDonald House has been a blessing says Kedine.
“Being at Ronald McDonald house has been a blessing for me and my son,” says Kedine. “They provide food, shelter, and everything else we might need. Even little things like soap and detergent are important. I have so much stress right now, and the staff here makes things better. We feel like we have a home here.”
RMHC has allowed Kedine to stay at her son’s side and give him the unconditional love he needs at this difficult time. They came to us because her son was at the wrong place at the wrong time, but for now Nesean and his mother are at the right place at the right time.
