12 Apr Sunshine Gasoline Distributors Expands its Fundraiser
April 12, 2022 — Don’t be surprised if you start noticing an increasing number of gas pumps decorated in Ronald McDonald House Charities graphics popping up around South Florida. Sunshine Gasoline Distributors, which is hosting a fundraiser benefiting RMHC of South Florida, has announced that by the end of January, it will be increasing the number of its participating pumps from four to 100. At the moment, the distributor has decorated approximately 51 of them.
Each of these beautifully-wrapped pumps is designated to donate one cent per gallon, on any level of gas, to RMHC of South Florida. The funds raised through this initiative will help provide a ‘home away from home,’ hot meals, and support to the families who stay at the Ronald McDonald House in Miami while their children are receiving life-saving treatment at nearby pediatric hospitals.
“Thanks to Sunshine Gasoline Distributors’ continued generosity in multiplying the number of pumps more than twelvefold, this fundraiser is no longer only one of the longest in RMHC of South Florida’s history but potentially one of our most profitable,” said Executive Director Soraya Rivera-Moya.
From now until the end of 2022, anyone who fills their tank at any of the 100 RMHC-wrapped pumps at participating South Florida gas stations will automatically donate to the charity, helping RMHC fulfill its mission of “keeping families together.” For a list of participating locations, visit rmhcsouthflorida.org/sunshine-gasoline/.
“We are excited to expand this fundraiser and therefore raise even more funds for this amazing charity to help them continue to prosper and provide comfort to thousands of children and their families during the most difficult time of their lives,” said Eddy Alvarez, Senior Operations Manager at Sunshine Gasoline Distributors, Inc. “Furthermore, I am honored to continue to help RMHC of South Florida in my new capacity as one of its esteemed Board of Directors members.”
Due to the Alvarez Family’s ongoing support, Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida has recently appointed Eddy Alvarez to its Board of Directors.
“We are incredibly appreciative of the generosity of Sunshine Gasoline Distributors and the entire Alvarez Family,” said Rivera Moya. “It’s a privilege to welcome Eddy Alvarez to our Board of Directors.”
