April 16, 2025 – A new addition to the RMHC South Florida leadership was featured in South Florida Hospital News with the announcement of Carlos Xavier Ramos, Senior Vice President and Corporate Regional Manager at Amerant Bank, joining the Board of Directors.

In his role at Amerant Bank, Ramos leads a dedicated team focused on delivering comprehensive banking solutions to businesses throughout South Florida. His extensive background equips him with valuable insights that will greatly benefit RMHC South Florida as it supports families in need.

Ramos joins the board at a pivotal time for RMHC South Florida, as the nonprofit is actively raising funds for a new $33 Million facility that will significantly increase its capacity to support more families. Hope Has A New Home is the combined campaign that will expand the Ronald McDonald House from 31 to 54 rooms, enabling RMHC South Florida to serve over 420 families annually.

“We are thrilled to welcome Carlos to our board,” said Soraya Rivera-Moya, Executive Director of RMHC South Florida. “His professional expertise and dedication to community service align perfectly with our mission. As we embark on this important expansion, Carlos’s insights will be invaluable in helping us create a more significant impact in the lives of families facing medical challenges.”

A native of Miami, Ramos is deeply rooted in the local community. He attended Miami-Dade public schools and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Florida in 2005. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ramos has been actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America, serving as both Assistant Cubmaster and Cubmaster for Pack 575, and regularly volunteering at local events.

“I am truly honored and excited to join the board of directors of Ronald McDonald House. This incredible organization has made a profound difference in the lives of so many families, and I am deeply committed to supporting its mission of providing comfort, care, and resources during challenging times,” said Carlos X. Ramos. I look forward to contributing my skills and experiences to further the impactful work of this dedicated team and to help ensure that families in need continue to receive the support they deserve.”

Ramos joins a diverse board of 22 members, which includes professionals from various industries, such as healthcare executives, small business franchisees, legal experts, and philanthropic leaders. This dedicated group is responsible for setting the strategic direction of RMHC South Florida, ensuring adherence to its mission, vision, and goals, as well as overseeing both short- and long-term planning.
