February 11, 2025 — Local 1o featured a compelling local story that highlighted the “Fuel Hope for Families” initiative. The story covered the partnership between RMHC South Florida and Sunshine Gasoline Distributors, which allows South Floridians to raise funds for the new Ronald McDonald House simply by fueling their vehicles. Building on the success of their collaboration in 2021, which raised over $500,000, this partnership aims to provide essential support for families with critically ill children.

The “Fuel Hope for Families” initiative is set to run through November 2025 at 50 stations and feature 100 pumps. For every gallon pumped at participating stations, one cent will be donated to RMHC South Florida. The funds raised will contribute to the Capital Campaign for a new house..

“We are immensely grateful for the steadfast support of Sunshine Gasoline, which is vital to our mission of assisting families during their most challenging times,” said Soraya Rivera-Moya, Executive Director of RMHC South Florida. “The funds generated through this initiative will bring us closer to our goal of $33 million for the new Ronald McDonald House, which will serve as a sanctuary for more families.”
